INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT VIA COMPLETE IMMERSION IN THE CULTURE OF THE COUNTRY
Mexico, Chile, Spain... Most of the shows created by Les Petits Français abroad were brought to life thanks to multi-disciplinary local teams backed up by international experts. A total immersion in the country's culture, over several months, a certain distance, and that innocence specific to the gaze of an outsider - in this case a French perspective - ensure their shows' success.
Technology at the service of content and creativity, and not the other way around: Les Petits Français are firmly committed to giving their shows meaning, and Martin Arnaud draws on his earlier experiences of the theatre to construct them.
While technology makes many things possible, content has to remain at the fore, the narrative must fit a theme, a guiding line that offers meaning. After that, it is all about getting the right balance so that the spectator has a unique experience on not only a visual, musical and spectacular level, but also from a historical, philosophical or geographical point of view.
Nowadays, highly sophisticated techniques make it possible to give free rein to the imagination... But while having a vision, drawing on an idea and constructing a narrative remain sine qua nons, knowing whether it is all going to come together and have an impact on the public, and finding the most powerful vehicle for the least expense are also key to realizing a project and securing its success. Isn't the role of show creators to pull out all the technological stops while keeping tabs on the human and economic means, and at the same time fully respecting the show and its spectators?
